SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII)
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) from Top-Floor to shop floor
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) from Top-Floor to shop floor
SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) as part of SAP Manufacturing Suite connects the production level (shop floor) and MES systems with SAP ERP (top floor) as an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) data hub, bringing more flexibility and transparency to your production processes.
SAP MII is a NetWeaver (Java) based, standardized and flexibly scalable IIoT platform and ensures as a central information interface that all data concerning manufacturing is visible in real time – including information on orders, materials, machine status, quantities, costs and product quality. By connecting existing production control systems or MDE / BDE terminals, touch screens, scanners and other mobile input devices, all relevant data sources and data recipients are networked without media discontinuity.
For a better understanding and faster decisions, the visualization of the production is an important prerequisite. With the help of SAP MII, information in material flow overviews, plant monitoring, control stations, dashboards and cockpits as well as production key performance indicators (KPI), e.g. OEE reports, can be made available easily and in real time. With SAP SSCE (Self Service Composition Environment), SAP MII offers a powerful drag-and-drop environment for creating dashboards. SAPUI5 technology based on HTML5 is the foundation for rapid user interface development and mobile applications with MII.
SAP MII was developed and optimized for use in the process industry, but also serves as the basis for all SAP Manufacturing Execution (SAP ME) applications in the discrete manufacturing industry for seamless integration with SAP ERP. SAP MII forms the foundation across all industries and is both the interface from SAP ME to SAP ERP (MEINT) and between SAP MII and SAP PCo or Worker UI. SAP MII is based on NetWeaver and a Java implementation. Applications such as SAP OEE Management are based on SAP MII
With SAP OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Management - as part of SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) - you can measure and evaluate plant performance - both in real time and historically.
SSCE Dashboard Example Asset Overview
The SAP SSCE is a robust standards-based platform that allows users to create, design, configure and view their dashboards as they see fit. SSCE is a powerful drag-and-drop environment in SAP MII for creating dashboards.
SSCE Dashboard Example Pareto Evaluation
SAP MII can be operated in centralized (data center) or decentralized (on-site) configurations or in mixed configurations and requires its own server instance.
