With agile "we" to process transparency and system harmonization
MES legacy system replacement with agile project approach at Endress+Hauser TS
When production and IT pull together to replace legacy systems, you are optimally positioned for the dynamic future.
One of the main drivers for the project was traceability along the entire electronics production process.
Endress+Hauser Temperature+System Products recognized more than three years ago that the current racehorse of production IT – the MES in-house development as a legacy system – was not capable of supporting the company’s strategy as a drawing card for the future. Too many resources would have to be put into further development, for the functions that already exist “off the shelf” in the standard. A “business as usual” was definitely not an option for such a centrally important tool.
The case study describes how SAP MES was successfully implemented as standard software in a joint effort between IT, manufacturing and Trebing + Himstedt in an agile manner.
"At the core of our success is that we are moving forward collaboratively with the production team in an agile way."
