Sustainability

Out of conviction and social responsibility

Active action

For Trebing + Himstedt, sustainability means acting in an economically, ecologically and socially responsible manner. That is why we are guided by the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals(Global Goals). By the end of 2023, we are launching various initiatives that will pay dividends toward the following goals:

  • Health & Wellbeing
  • High quality education
  • Gender equality
  • Sustainable Cities & Communities
  • Sustainable consumption & production
  • Climate protection measures
  • Life on land
  • Partnerships to achieve the goals

We have been a climate-neutral company since 2021 out of conviction and social responsibility.

"Sustainability is a basic requirement for us to be able to exist as a company in the long term. Our goal is to establish sustainability in all areas of the company."

Compensation projects

In our day-to-day business, we cannot avoid all CO2 emissions. Thus, we promote various sustainability projects in cooperation with our partner myclimate.

2022 & 2023 - Reforestation in Nicaragua

We offset our emissions from 2021 and also for 2022 via the following project in 2022 and 2023 respectively:

The climate project promotes reforestation in the community of San Juan de Limay. This allows an increased forest area to store water, minimizing flooding during the rainy season. In addition, energy-efficient stoves that require less firewood are being distributed in the region. The project has a positive impact on the living conditions as well as the education of the people and saves CO2 emissions.

2021 - Clean drinking water for schools and households in Uganda

We offset our emissions from 2020 via the following project in 2021:

The climate project provides poorer households and local schools with new technologies to purify drinking water. Without the new technologies, the water would have to be boiled over an open fire before consumption. Local forests are cut down for these fires and the women have to spend several hours a day fetching wood. The project has a positive impact on the living conditions as well as the health of the people and saves CO2 emissions.
