Target Picture Workshop
For the future growth of the company, production must be efficient, flexible and sustainable at the same time. It must also be able to respond more resiliently to dynamic changes. This is only possible with end-to-end digitization. But how is this digital transformation approached properly so that digitization does not end in data silos?
The issue seems complex and complicated, but simply continuing to do nothing and let it run leads to a dead end.
The target picture workshop sorts the relevant topics within three parts and brings them into an executable roadmap for the path to an intelligent factory.
Target group
Those responsible for the company’s digital strategy from the executive board or management, the IT department, and representatives of the departments involved.
Guideline Factory Framework
What is the Factory Framework?
Why does it need a Factory Framework?

Contents
In three consecutive workshops, we structure the core topics of a target image for manufacturing companies.
The first step is to create a common understanding among management and the various departments of their own goals and potential for a holistic digitization strategy. The result is a rough target picture for deriving fields of action.
Based on the target image from Workshop I, the fields of action are concretized and structured in the second workshop. The potential of digitization for the respective business processes is also evaluated. Subsequently, critical influencing factors and prerequisites are elaborated and dependencies are identified.
In the final step, the key topics are prioritized and placed in a digitalization roadmap in terms of time. In addition, the program priorities are concretized and necessary tasks until the launch are derived. A fit/gap assessment is used to map the requirements to an architecture concept as the basis for a data strategy.
Advantages
The target picture workshop serves to provide a company with a sustainable orientation in which the opportunities of digitalization are recognized and the implementation is approached in a practical manner in a team. In the environment of rapid digitization trends such as AI, IIoT and cloud migration, a holistic and cross-departmental line must be found in order to be able to produce efficiently, flexibly and sustainably in the future.
Result
- Common understanding of the target image and transparent design across all departments.
- Prioritize goals and roadmap for implementation across multiple agile projects.
- Data strategy with a concept for a system architecture is available.
