In automation, OPC technology is the de facto industrial standard for interoperable application and system connection. OPC has entered all areas of automation technology - such as product engineering, process engineering, building control and energy management. With more than 3,000 products and millions of installed systems, OPC has proved its suitability for daily use. Applications range from a few hundred reading points and one client/server pair up to 30,000 data points and 20-30 client/server pairs in the network.

As a member of the European Steering Committee of the OPC Foundation, Trebing + Himstedt has been actively involved in all developments from the beginning of OPC activities in 1995.
