SPI 3 | DP Slave

The SPI 3 allows fast and economical integration of conventional serial fieldbus devices as DP slaves into PROFIBUS networks. The SPI 3 is provided with a choice of serial protocols and physical interface standards to meet a wide range of requirements. In decentralized PROFIBUS installations, the SPI 3 thus replaces the serial interface inside the SPS.

The SPI 3 is easy to install, program and configure. No separate configuration program is required since configuration is done exclusively by the respective PROFIBUS DP master by means of the SPI3 GSD file. The PROFIBUS I/O range can be flexibly configured (2 to 64 data words).

The SPI 3 is suitable for both simple applications such as connecting bar code scanners or text displays to PROFIBUS and for more complex applications such as the integration of identification systems, weighing machines and controllers.
